Board of Directors' Nominees:
My name is Richard Amezcua and I have been a member of Cabrillo Credit Union for over twenty years.
I have worked for the United States Border Patrol as an agent for the past twenty years. I’m currently employed by the United States Border Patrol and throughout my twenty years of service to the country, I have held many positions of responsibility and trust. I have been assigned several detail duties to include Field Training Officer, Station Training Department, Intelligence Agent and am a current member of the agency’s Peer Support Program.
I have held positions in organizations tied to the Border Patrol such as President of the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) organization (El Cajon Station) and working as the liaison between the agents, mission support, management at the station and Cabrillo Credit Union.
I have previously held the title of Supervisory Committee Chair at Cabrillo Credit Union. My duties as Chair include that the Credit Union’s Board of Directors and management abide by their own governance as well as operational policies and procedures. I have also been the recipient of the Cabrillo Credit Union Member of the Year Award in 2010. I’m currently on the Board of Directors as Chair and have held that position for two years.
I feel that my experiences within the Border Patrol, accompanied with my four years as the Supervisory Committee Chair and the current Board of Directors Chair, would greatly benefit this position. I look forward to your support and the opportunity to represent all Cabrillo Credit Union Members.
My name is Manuel Bayon and I am currently a Cabrillo Credit Union Director. I have been a member of Cabrillo Credit Union for over twenty-nine years. I have been a CCU Board Member from 2019 to present and have acquired extensive knowledge of the Credit Union. I have worked for the United States Border Patrol as an agent for the past twenty-nine years. I have held numerous positions within the organization tied to the Border Patrol.
I currently serve as President for the National Border Patrol Union with San Diego local 1613, which represents almost two thousand agents in the San Diego Sector. The majority of these agents are active members of Cabrillo Credit Union. During my tenure as President, I have invited and assisted Cabrillo Credit Union to participate in many of our functions, including membership recruitment, and have been very pleased with the outcome we received from the community. I will continue to contribute to Cabrillo Credit Union my dedication and contribution of my experience as a Board member to enhance the products and services for a financially strong institution.
I have been a strong supporter of Cabrillo Credit Union over the years, and I feel that my experiences as a Board Member and the Border Patrol accompanied with my Union experience will greatly continue to benefit the members of Cabrillo Credit Union.
