New Cabrillo ATM Coming to El Centro
Cabrillo Credit Union is bringing greater banking convenience to members in the Imperial Valley with a new ATM coming to El Centro this September.
Installation of the new ATM is scheduled for September 21, 2026, with member access expected to begin the following day.
The new ATM will give members another convenient way to handle everyday transactions, with expanded capabilities including cash and check deposits and flexible cash withdrawals.
Deposit Cash and Checks
One of the biggest additions is the ability for members to make both cash and check deposits directly at the ATM, giving members another convenient option for managing their money while visiting our El Centro location.
The ATM will display the maximum number of bills or checks that can be accepted during an individual transaction, making it easy for members to know the limits while completing a deposit.
Deposits made at the ATM will follow Cabrillo’s regular funds-availability guidelines outlined in the Member Agreement.
More Flexibility When Withdrawing Cash
Members will also have more flexibility when choosing how they receive their cash. The ATM will dispense $5, $10, and $20 bills, providing more withdrawal options than a traditional $20-only ATM.
ATM withdrawals are subject to the limits associated with the member’s card, with a maximum withdrawal of $500.
The ATM will support Cabrillo debit and ATM cards as well as CO-OP and other supported network cards. A $3 ATM fee will apply when using a non-Cabrillo, non-CO-OP card. Additional fees may be charged by the cardholder’s financial institution.

Convenient Access in El Centro
Because the new ATM will be located inside the lobby, members will be able to access it whenever the lobby is open.
For our members in the Imperial Valley, the new ATM represents another investment in providing convenient access to the financial services they rely on. It also continues a much larger story of Cabrillo adapting to meet the changing needs of our members.

Growing With Our Members Since 1955
A lot has changed since our story began in 1955 as Border Federal Credit Union, founded to serve federal employees in San Diego.
As our membership and communities grew, so did Cabrillo. In 1976, we became Cabrillo Credit Union, reflecting the credit union’s continued growth while carrying forward the relationships and service that had been part of our organization from the beginning.
Our commitment to being there for members has continued through every chapter. In 1998, Cabrillo developed C.A.R.E. (Cabrillo Advance Relief Effort) to provide financial support to federal employees during government shutdowns. It was another example of a principle that continues to guide us today: understanding what our members need and finding meaningful ways to support them.
Technology has also played an important role in that evolution. In 2015, modern and mobile banking tools were introduced, giving members more ways to manage their money beyond the traditional branch. Since then, those capabilities have continued to expand, giving members greater flexibility in how and where they bank.
In 2025, Cabrillo marked 70 years of trusted service. Today, the new El Centro ATM represents another step forward, combining the convenience of modern banking with the relationship-driven service that has defined Cabrillo for generations.
Continuing Our Commitment
From our beginnings serving federal employees in 1955 to the technology and services available to members today, Cabrillo has continued to grow, adapt, and invest in the communities we serve.
The new El Centro ATM is the latest part of that journey, providing members with greater access, more flexibility, and another convenient way to bank while staying true to our mission:
To enrich the lives of our member-owners, one relationship at a time.
We look forward to welcoming members to the new El Centro ATM this September.
