Chief Lending Officer -
Cabrillo Credit Union is in search of a highly qualified Chief Lending Officer. We are seeking a leader with proven skills in strategic planning, loan growth, consumer lending, real estate lending, indirect lending, risk analysis, and portfolio management. An ideal candidate will have had proven success in leadership, collaborative management, negotiation, policy writing, credit union regulatory compliance, and decision-making.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of financial institution experience
  • Complete knowledge of consumer lending requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of assessment and management of loan portfolio, including risk analysis, balancing portfolios and adapting in a changing economic environment.
  • Understanding of collections procedures, foreclosure process and related legal actions 
  • Extensive experience in consumer lending and asset quality   
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and supervisory skills
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, management, planning and decision-making skills. 
  • Extensive understanding of the various state and federal regulations; consumer compliance and protection laws
  • Solid knowledge of risk management, portfolio segmentation and analytics, and Allowance for Loan Loss methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communications

HR Assistant -
Cabrillo Credit Union is looking for an HR Assistant to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties as part of a very energetic team.  Qualified candidate will be responsible for assisting the HR/training team with various duties including:

  • Providing clerical and administrative support
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Coordinate HR projects, such as meetings, training and open enrollments
  • Scheduling interviews
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves) and serve as backup  
  • Filing and scanning of employee records
  • Assisting with HR ticket requests and requests for time off
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred
  • Min. 2 years of Administrative/HR experience or relative HR position
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Basic knowledge of California and Federal labor laws
  • Previous payroll processing experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills

Training Specialist - 
Cabrillo Credit Union is looking for an enthusiastic Training Specialist. This candidate will promote Cabrillo's mission and values, and act as the key staff motivator. They will also work closely with the department heads to ensure productive and consistent training is conducted, based on the department's needs and requirements. 

Duties under this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Plan and implement a variety of training programs.
  • Develop training programs in accordance with needs and regulatory requirements, ensuring staff is receiving regular training
  • Conduct research to implement new training programs
  • Determine and facilitate different training methods; i.e. individualized, group, webinar, videos, etc.
  • Conduct new hire training with all new employees
  • Oversee e-training throughout the organization, including tracking and system updates
  • Create/Update employee resources as needed
  • Maintain an annual training calendar
  1. Track progress of trainees
  • Maintain records of individual trainees
  • Communicate pertinent information to senior management.
  1. Develop, recommend, and implement various tools, programs and policies to enhance operations.
  • Research, plan, and recommend policies and programs to help operations to meet credit union goals
  • Report current conditions/operations of the branches and all important factors influencing them
  • Create and/or update job aides and position guides
  1. Ensure a positive and productive culture is maintained throughout the organization by offering employee engagement opportunities

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years’ credit union/banking operations experience
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred
  • Corelation/Keystone experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of accounts, loans and services
  • Well organized and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent people skills
  • Adept at public speaking
  • Working knowledge of applicable government regulations
  • Minimum of three years’ experience creating training courses
  • MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Willingness to travel to all branch locations to conduct onsite trainings when needed

Controller - 
Cabrillo Credit Union is looking for a Controller for the Accounting department to be the primary contact for all staff. The controller is primarily responsible for day-to-day operations, developing, maintaining and updating the Accounting department’s daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual activities with minimal supervision and direction. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the departments procedures and recommending improvements. Also responsible for remaining current with changes while implementing processes to streamline. Consistently providing expert financial perspective and opinions in analysis.  The qualified candidate will possess a multitude of skills, such as, working knowledge of ACH and drafts, familiarity with credit union/banking accounting procedures, regulations of affecting operations, detail-oriented, as well as, excellent verbal and communication skills.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, and 5+ years’ experience in a senior accounting position required.  CPA or CA certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years with management and statutory reporting, and minimum 3 years’ experience in managing accounting staff of 2 or more.  Expertise in financial guidelines and accounting principles (GAAP). This position will be located at our Admin building in Scripps Ranch, Monday-Friday. EOE.

Loan Officer - 
Full-time position available in the Credit Union’s administrative office located in Scripps Ranch. Responsible for processing consumer loan applications, including interviewing, making decision recommendations, and funding. Qualified applicant will have 2 years+ consumer lending experience with lending authority, a thorough knowledge of lending regulations, solid sales skills, excellent people skills, ability to work at a fast pace, and be detail-oriented. HELOC, NMLS, Notary, and Mortgage experience a must. EOE

Loan Clerk - 
Cabrillo Credit Union is looking for a Loan Clerk to act as liaison between Loan Officers and Internal Staff to ensure proper flow of loan requests.  Qualified candidate will be responsible for assisting the Lending team with various duties including:

  • Loan audits
  • CPI insurance monitoring
  • Mortgage insurance monitoring
  • GAP/ MBP claims
  • Insurance Payoff’s
  • Managing impound disbursements: property tax and insurance
  • Loan extensions
  • FM corrections
  • Automatic payments set up
  • Completing loan tickets: due date changes, payoff demands etc…
  • Assisting in title perfection

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Lending Experience with CPI & Mortgage Insurance & GAP
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Basic knowledge of California and Federal labor laws
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills
